RESOLUTION NO. RS2011-1791

A resolution approving cooperative agreement No. 11ESTNGEML00042 with the United States Department of the Interior - United States Geological Survey to maintain in cooperation with The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County the installation of backup radio modems for flood warning gauges and webcams in various streams in Davidson County.

WHEREAS, The United States Department of the Interior – United States Geological Survey has an existing agreement with the Metropolitan Government to operate and maintain in cooperation flood warning gauges in various streams in Davidson County; and,

WHEREAS, The United States Department of the Interior – United States Geological Survey and the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services wish to install backup radio modems for flood warning gauges and webcams whereby the Metropolitan Government will make a one time payment not to exceed $35,256.00 for said installation, as set forth in Exhibit A hereto; and,

WHEREAS, annual operation and maintenance of the radio and webcam equipment will be covered under the existing stream gauging agreement between the Metropolitan Government and the United States Department of the Interior – United States Geological Survey; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. BL2001-870 agreements for this program may be approved by Resolution.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Agreement No. 11ESTNGEML00042 by and between the United States Department of the Interior - United States Geological Survey and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Department of Water and Sewerage Services, to maintain in cooperation the installation of backup radio modems for flood warning gauges and webcams in various streams in Davidson County, as attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
