RESOLUTION NO. RS2011-1778

A resolution approving a Cooperative Agreement with the United States Department of Agriculture – National Resources Conservation Service to stabilize the stream banks along the Cumberland River in the Waterford Development.

WHEREAS, The United States Department of the Agriculture – National Resources Conservation Service (“NRCS”) has offered the Metropolitan Government an agreement to stabilize the stream banks along the Cumberland River in the Waterford Development in Davidson County; and,

WHEREAS, NRCS and the Metropolitan Government want to participate in the joint funding of the $6,000,000 project to stabilize the stream banks at a fixed cost to the Metropolitan Government not to exceed $600,000, as set forth in Exhibit A hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that said agreement be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Cooperative Agreement by and between the United States Department of the Agriculture – National Resources Conservation Service and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to stabilize the stream banks along the Cumberland River in the Waterford Development, as attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
