RESOLUTION NO. RS2011-1775

A resolution approving a Memorandum of Understanding between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Friends of Bells Bend related to the construction and maintenance of a 1.2 acre wetland at Bells Bend Park.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Friends of Bells Bend Park have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding related to the construction and maintenance of a 1.2 acre wetland at Bells Bend Park; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority has agreed to provide a total amount of $51,600.00 to the Friends of Bells Bend Park to fully fund the construction and maintenance of a 1.2 acre wetland mitigation project in Bells Bend Park that will meet the standards of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Recreation; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Memorandum of Understanding be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Memorandum of Understanding between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Friends of Bells Bend, related to the construction and maintenance of a 1.2 acre wetland at Bells Bend Park, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Madam President:

I move to amend Resolution No. RS2011-1775 by deleting the phrase “Tennessee Department of Environment and Recreation”, wherein it appears in the second recital clause, and substituting with the phrase “Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation”.
