RESOLUTION NO. RS2011-1747

A resolution approving amendment two to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, for the construction of additional correctional capacity at the Metropolitan Detention facility.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, previously entered into a grant agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, for the construction of additional correctional capacity at the Metropolitan Detention Facility approved by RS2008-494; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement by changing the end date from June 30, 2011 to September 30, 2011, a copy of which amendment two is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment two to the grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, for the construction of additional correctional capacity at the Metro Detention Facility, a copy of which amendment two is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
