RESOLUTION NO. RS2011-1746

A resolution approving an application for the United States Department of Health and Human Services Behavioral Health Treatment Court Collaboratives Grant to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

WHEREAS, the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services is accepting applications for the Behavioral Health Treatment Court Collaboratives Grant with an award of $1,200,000.00 with no cash match required to ensure that the most vulnerable individuals within the criminal justice system have access to appropriate behavioral services; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Metropolitan Government’s application for the United States Department of Health and Human Services Behavioral Health Treatment Court Collaboratives Grant, with an award of $1,200,000.00, to ensure that the most vulnerable individuals within the criminal justice system have access to appropriate behavioral services, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Davidson County State Trial Courts are authorized to submit said application to the United States Department of Health and Human Services.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
