RESOLUTION NO. RS2011-1735
A resolution recognizing the 40th year reunion of Pearl High School – Class of 1971.
WHEREAS, high school reunions are an important part of the fabric of our society, because they provide an excellent opportunity to fondly remember the past, renew old acquaintances, and to embrace and look forward to the future; and
WHEREAS, the Pearl High School graduates of 1971, the mighty, mighty tigers, will reunite during the weekend of July 8-10, 2011, at the Maxwell House in Nashville, Tennessee with activities scheduled throughout the weekend with a dinner/dance scheduled for July 9, 2011; and
WHEREAS, it is because of their stoic efforts that among our ranks we boast persons from all career stratus: doctors, teachers, preachers, attorneys, business owners, government employees at all levels, political leaders, community activist, athletes, and the list goes on and even in our personal lives, the foundations that they developed have led to great things that will carry forth for future generations; and
WHEREAS, Pearl High Class of 1971 has produced outstanding graduates, who reside throughout the United States and the world, and who have excelled in all walks of life and have remained a pillar of educational excellence; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes the members of the Pearl High Class of 1971 on their occasion of their class reunion and join with them in celebrating this wonderful time together to reminisce of school days past, relate triumphs and adventures occurring throughout the years, share current news while enjoying the warmth and fellowship of old friends, and extend to these estimable citizens my best wishes for a fantastic reunion overflowing with memories and good times.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the 40th year reunion of Pear High School – Class of 1971.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
