RESOLUTION NO. RS2011-1659

A resolution approving amendment one to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, to provide funding for the training needs for dislocated workers to prepare them for entry into the labor force and to offer training to those facing serious barriers to employment (LW09F111DWRSP11).

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, previously entered into a grant agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to provide funding for the training needs for dislocated workers to prepare them for entry into the labor force and to offer training to those facing serious barriers to employment approved by RS2010-1479; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant by extending the end date to September 30, 2011; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment one to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, to provide funding for the training needs for dislocated workers to prepare them for entry into the labor force and to offer training to those facing serious barriers to employment, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
