RESOLUTION NO. RS2011-1645

A resolution appropriating funds from the United States Department of Health and Human Services to the Metropolitan Action Commission to support the Head Start Program and upgrade access control systems at seven Head Start Centers.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Action Commission previously entered into a grant contract with the United States Department of Health and Human Services to support the Head Start Program.

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant contract by adding $62,170.00 of Federal Program Improvement Funds not expended in Fiscal Year 2010 for a new total of $11,027,755.00 to support the Head Start Program and upgrade access control systems at seven Head Start Centers, a copy of which amendment two is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these funds be appropriated to the Metropolitan Action Commission.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the funds received pursuant to amendment two to the grant contract between the Metropolitan Action Commission and the United States Department of Health and Human Services to support the Head Start Program and to upgrade access control systems at seven Head Start Centers, a copy of which amendment two is attached hereto and incorporated herein, be appropriated to the Metropolitan Action Commission.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
