RESOLUTION NO. RS2011-1588

A resolution approving amendment one to a grant from the Tennessee Board of Probation and Parole to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the State Trial Courts, to divert felony offenders from the Tennessee prison system by providing community supervision and treatment services.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the State Trial Courts, previously entered into a grant agreement with the Tennessee Board of Probation and Parole to divert felony offenders from the Tennessee prison system by providing community supervision and treatment services approved by RS2010-1342; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to increase the grant amount by $147,876.00 and to increase the required cash match by $14,175.00 from $198,450.00 to $212,625.00; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment one to the grant by and between the Tennessee Board of Probation and Parole and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the State Trial Courts, to divert felony offenders from the Tennessee prison system by providing community supervision and treatment services, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
