RESOLUTION NO. RS2011-1564

A resolution approving an application for a PAWS (Pets Adopted Will Survive) Grant from The Memorial Foundation to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with Animal Control, to build outdoor shelters for animals and a work shed to teach offenders vocational skills.

WHEREAS, The Memorial Foundation is accepting grant applications for a PAWS (Pets Adopted Will Survive) Grant with an award of $18,470.00 with no cash match required; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the application for a PAWS (Pets Adopted Will Survive) Grant, with an award of $18,470.00, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office is authorized to submit said grant application to The Memorial Foundation.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
