RESOLUTION NO. RS2011-1517

A resolution approving amendment one to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of State, Tennessee State Library and Archives, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library, to target library materials to persons having difficulty using a library in Davidson County.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library, previously entered into a grant agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of State, Tennessee State Library and Archives, to target library materials to persons having difficulty using a library in Davidson County approved by RS2010-1371; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $88,000.00 from $187,822.00 to $275,822.00, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment one to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of State, Tennessee State Library and Archives, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library, to target library materials to persons having difficulty using a library in Davidson County, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
