RESOLUTION NO. RS2010-1468

A resolution approving an application for the FY2011 Transportation Enhancement grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of Public Works, for Phase 1 construction for the Harding Place Pedestrian Network.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, is accepting applications for the FY2011 Transportation Enhancement Program with an award of $1,961,000 with a required cash match of $491,000 for construction of 4,800 linear feet of sidewalks on Harding Place from Nolensville Pike to Tampa Drive; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to Metropolitan Code of Laws Section 2.08.045, this application has been signed by the Mayor and submitted to the State of Tennessee, contingent upon Council approval; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant agreement be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That The Metropolitan Government’s application for the FY2011 Transportation Enhancement Program with an award of $1,961,000, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Department of Public Works is authorized to submit said application to the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
