RESOLUTION NO. RS2010-1459
A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Department of Law to compromise and settle the Metropolitan Government’s claim against Dennis Hudson.
WHEREAS, on January 15, 2010, a Metropolitan Health Department employee, utilizing her personal vehicle in accordance with Metropolitan Health Department regulations, was stopped at a red light on Nolensville Road when her vehicle was struck in the rear by a vehicle operated by Maylinda Amstead and owned by Dennis Hudson, resulting in personal injury to the Health Department employee and injury on duty costs to the Metropolitan Government; and,
WHEREAS, after investigation, the Department of Law believes that the settlement listed in Section 1 is fair and reasonable and in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government and recommends that the Metropolitan Government accept payment in the amount of $1,940.53 as compensation for all injury on duty costs incurred by the Metropolitan Government employee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1: The Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to compromise and settle its claim against Dennis Hudson in an amount totaling $1,940.53, which shall be deposited into an appropriate fund and account as determined by the Department of Finance.
Section 2: This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
