RESOLUTION NO. RS2010-1453

A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Mayor to enter into an agreement between the United States Department of the Army and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for a Flood Preparedness Study.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Department of Water and Sewerage Services (Metropolitan Government”), has determined the need for a flood preparedness study; and,

WHEREAS, The United States Department of the Army, through its U. S. Army Corps of Engineers (“Department of the Army”), identified Water Resource Development Act funds to pay for part of the study costs; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government has identified matching funds so the Department of the Army can prepare the study in a projected six month time period.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1: That the agreement between the Department of the Army and The Metropolitan Government for development of a Flood Preparedness Study in Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2: That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
