RESOLUTION NO. RS2010-1448

A resolution appropriating funds from a Child and Adult Care Food Program Grant (CACFP) from the Tennessee Department of Human Services to the Metropolitan Action Commission to supply free meals and snacks for Head Start students.

WHEREAS, pursuant to its authority under M.C.L. 2.108.050 the Metropolitan Action Commission has accepted a Child and Adult Care Food Program Grant from the Tennessee Department of Human Services, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and,

WHEREAS, $900,137.00 has already been appropriated through the 2010 Budget Ordinance; and

WHEREAS, an additional $17,854 is available to be appropriated to the Metropolitan Action Commission; and

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these additional funds be appropriated to the Metropolitan Action Commission.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the additional funds from the Child and Adult Care Food Program Grant (CACFP) from the Tennessee Department of Human Services in an amount not to exceed $17,854.00, to support the Head Start Program, be appropriated to the Metropolitan Action Commission.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
