RESOLUTION NO. RS2010-1390

A resolution approving amendment one to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to address the issue of infant mortality focusing on African American and Latina teenagers.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, previously entered into a grant agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, to address the issue of infant mortality focusing on African American and Latina teenagers approved by RS2009-925; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement by extending the end date to June 30, 2011, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment one to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to address the issue of infant mortality focusing on African American and Latina teenagers, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
