RESOLUTION NO. RS2010-1377
A resolution approving the pre-application and application of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County Community for the Challenge/TIGER II Planning Grant from the U. S. Department of Transportation.
WHEREAS, the U. S. Department of Transportation is accepting pre-applications and applications for the Community Challenge/TIGER II Planning Grant with an award of $900,000.00 and a required match of $500,000.00 to transform underdeveloped commercial areas of downtown Nashville into complete neighborhoods with mixed-uses and a range of housing and transportation options; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the grant pre-application and grant application be approved and submitted.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Metropolitan Government’s pre-application and application for the Community Challenge/TIGER II Planning Grant, with an award of $900,000.00, copies of which are attached hereto and incorporated herein, are hereby approved, and the Office of Environment and Sustainability is authorized to submit said pre-application and application to the U. S. Department of Transportation.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
