RESOLUTION NO. RS2010-1367
A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court, and the State of Tennessee to temporarily house female juvenile detainees at the State’s New Vision facility.
WHEREAS, the Juvenile Justice Center of Davidson County sustained extensive flood damage on May 2, 2010 and was rendered uninhabitable; and,
WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee has agreed to allow the Metropolitan Government to use one housing unit at its New Vision facility for the temporary housing of female juvenile detainees from Davidson County; and,
WHEREAS, the intergovernmental agreement attached hereto and incorporated herein establishes the terms of the temporary housing arrangement; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government that the intergovernmental agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the intergovernmental agreement by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court, and the State of Tennessee to temporarily house female juvenile detainees at the State’s New Vision facility, copies of which are attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
