RESOLUTION NO. RS2010-1341

A resolution approving amendment one to a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the State Trial Courts, to reduce recidivism rates among felony offenders with mental health and substance abuse disorders.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the State Trial Courts, previously entered into a grant agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice, to reduce recidivism rates among felony offenders with mental health and substance abuse disorders approved by RS2009-1021; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement by extending the end date to December 30, 2011, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment one to the grant by and between the U.S. Department of Justice and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the State Trial Courts, to reduce recidivism rates among felony offenders with mental health and substance abuse disorders, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
