RESOLUTION NO. RS2010-1333

A resolution approving amendment one to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Heritage Conservation Trust Fund to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, to protect 290 acres in the Beaman to Bells Bend Corridor through the execution of five conservation easements.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, previously entered into a grant agreement with the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Heritage Conservation Trust Fund, to protect 290 acres in the Beaman to Bells Bend Corridor through the execution of five conservation easements approved by RS2009-1053; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement by extending the end date to October 31, 2010 and by extending the time period for the closing dates on the conservation easements to no later than October 20, 2010, with no change in funding, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment one to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Heritage Conservation Trust Fund, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, to protect 290 acres in the Beaman to Bells Bend Corridor through the execution of five conservation easements, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section. 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
