RESOLUTION NO. RS2010-1259
A resolution approving a grant application for federal assistance through the Emergency Watershed Protection Program of the U. S. Department of Agriculture to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Water and Sewer Department, to repair watershed damages and impairments at various sites throughout Davidson County related to the May 1 – 3, 2010 flood.
WHEREAS, the U. S. Department of Agriculture is accepting grant applications for federal assistance to repair watershed damages and impairments at various sites throughout Davidson County related to the May 1 – 3, 2010 flood with an award to be determined following an inspection and assessment of needed repairs; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this program; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the grant application of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Water and Sewer Department, to repair watershed damages and impairments at various sites throughout Davidson County related to the May 1 – 3, 2010 flood, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Water and Sewer Department is authorized to submit said grant application to the U. S. Department of Agriculture.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
