RESOLUTION NO. RS2010-1243

A resolution approving The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County’s application for Public Assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency pursuant to the Disaster Relief Act.

WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is accepting requests for Public Assistance grants pursuant to the Disaster Relief Act; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government has sustained substantial damages due to the extensive rain event and widespread flooding that commenced on May 1, 2010; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to apply for this assistance; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the application for Public Assistance, entitled “Designation of Applicant’s Agent Certification”, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to sign and execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
