RESOLUTION NO. RS2010-1237

A resolution approving an application for a State JAG TAP Summer Camp Grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, is accepting applications for a State JAG TAP Summer Camp Grant, with an award of $39,344.73 with no cash match required, to provide funding to sub-contract with the 14th Avenue Baptist Church to provide a summer camp as well as year-round support for youth in the community; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Metropolitan Government’s application for a State JAG TAP Summer Camp Grant, with an award of $39,344.73, to provide funding to sub-contract with the 14th Avenue Baptist Church to provide a summer camp as well as year-round support for youth in the community, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is authorized to submit said application to the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
