RESOLUTION NO. RS2010-1236

A resolution approving an application for the Sheriff’s Alcohol Awareness for Everyone Program (SAAFE) Grant from The Cal Turner Family Foundation to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, to provide funding for one year.

WHEREAS, The Cal Turner Family Foundation is accepting applications for the Sheriff’s Alcohol Awareness for Everyone Program Grant, with an award of $134,362.32 with no cash match required; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the application for the Sheriff’s Alcohol Awareness for Everyone Grant, with an award of $134,362.32, to provide funding for one year, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office is authorized to submit said application to The Cal Turner Family Foundation.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
