RESOLUTION NO. RS2010-1185

A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement between the United States Department of the Army and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, to establish procedures for the exchange of law enforcement information and cooperation in law enforcement efforts.

WHEREAS, the United States Department of the Army wishes to cooperate with Metropolitan Nashville Police Department law enforcement activities when such activities involve military personnel and/or military family members; and,

WHEREAS, the intergovernmental agreement attached hereto and incorporated herein provides terms for such cooperation between the agencies; and,

WHEREAS, T.C.A. § 12-9-104 authorizes the Metropolitan Government to enter into intergovernmental agreements with agencies of the federal government for cooperative projects by resolution of the governing body; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this intergovernmental agreement be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the intergovernmental agreement by and between the United States Department of the Army and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, to establish procedures for the exchange of law enforcement information and cooperation in law enforcement efforts, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
