RESOLUTION NO. RS2010-1147

A resolution approving two Highway Safety Grants from the Tennessee Department of Transportation to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the benefit of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.

WHEREAS, the Tennessee Department of Transportation has awarded Highway Safety Grants to the Metropolitan Government for the years 2008-2010; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these grants be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant agreements between the Tennessee Department of Transportation and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for and on behalf of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, copies of which are attached hereto and incorporated herein, are hereby approved.

Section 2. That the amount of these grants be appropriated to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office based on revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
