RESOLUTION NO. RS2010-1143
A resolution appropriating funds from amendment one to a Community Services Block Grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Action Commission, to assist residents of Nashville and Davidson County with Adult Basic Education and GED Instruction to help clients achieve self-sufficiency.
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Action Commission previously entered into a grant agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services; and,
WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $77,712.68 from $2,295,164.00 to $2,372,876.68, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Action Commission has accepted the amendment to the Community Services Block Grant pursuant to its authority under M.C.L. 2.108.050; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these funds be appropriated to the Metropolitan Acton Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the funds from amendment one to the Community Services Block Grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metro Action Commission, to assist residents of Nashville and Davidson County with Adult Basic Education and GED Instruction to help clients achieve self-sufficiency, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, are hereby appropriated to the Metropolitan Action Commission based on revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
