RESOLUTION NO. RS2010-1111

A resolution approving a contract by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Pitney Bowes for the lease of a postal mail metering system.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Code of Laws Section 5.04.020 provides that all leases of equipment shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council if the annual expenditure for the lease exceeds five thousand dollars ($5,000) per year; and,

WHEREAS, the annual expenditure to lease a postal mail metering system for use by General Services, pursuant to the attached contract with Pitney Bowes, will exceed five thousand dollars ($5,000) per year; and,

WHEREAS, the attached contract with Pitney Bowes was procured by Invitation to Bid; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this contract be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the contract between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Pitney Bowes, for the lease of a postal mail metering system, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
