RESOLUTION NO. RS2010-1102

A resolution approving amendment one to a Community Services Block Grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Action Commission, for the receipt of funds from The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to assist low income individuals in meeting their basic needs.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Action Commission, previously entered into a grant agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services, RS2009-847; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $130,428.56 from $1,829,860.00 to $1,960,288.56, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment one to the Community Services Block Grant, by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services, in an amount not to exceed $130,428.56 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metro Action Commission, to assist low income individuals in meeting their basic needs, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Metro Action Commission based on revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
