RESOLUTION NO. RS2010-1091

A resolution approving an application for a Cities of Service Leadership Grant from the Cities of Service to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Mayor’s Office, to support the position of Chief Service Officer to lead local efforts to develop and implement a comprehensive service plan on behalf of the Mayor.

WHEREAS, the Cities of Service is accepting applications for a Leadership Grant, with an award of $200,000.00 with no cash match required; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the application for a Cities of Service Leadership Grant, with an award of $200,000.00, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Nashville Mayor’s Office is authorized to submit said application to the Cities of Service.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
