RESOLUTION NO. RS2010-1086

A resolution recognizing the 2009 Una Pee Wee Bears Football Team.

WHEREAS, the Una Pee Wee Bears football team has established and maintained a proud tradition of excellence in boy’s football; and

WHEREAS, these fine young athletes are to be commended for their performance and sportsmanship as they completed a successful season of football competition by posting an impressive record of 13 wins and 2 losses; and

WHEREAS, with this 2009 championship at the 11th Annual Chattanooga Choo Choo Bowl, the Una Pee Wee Bears defeated the NCS Cobras, winning their seventh championship title and their 17th Mid-State Youth Football Championship for an overall Pee Wee record of 287-16; and

WHEREAS, the team consisted of the following players: Santez Beddingfield, Terrian Johnson, Kenneth Beard, Cameron Elder, Jaylyn Pleasant, Jalen Macon, Anttionio Lee, Ryan Hunter, Amir Annoor, Ashton Smith, Adrian Huey, Tanner Bumbalough, Camrynn Pleasant, Kendall Storay, Quenton Barnes, Jay Battle, Myles Pollard, Jaylen Pegues, Raymon Adams, Cameron Nicholson, Kameron Curtis, Corey Dowell, Marquise Woodson, Jalen Baugh, Michael Uribe, Chase Thomas, and Axiver Swain whose dedication, drive and hard work made it possible for a successful season; and

WHEREAS, this talented team under the leadership of Head Coach John Patton and Assistant Coaches, Preston Beddingfield, Gregg Pollard, Leonard Jordan, Frank Thomas, Ricky Lowe, Quintin Arnold and Bianca Mongomery, Team Mom, who are to be commended for their commitment in providing leadership and direction; and

WHEREAS, the Una Pee Wee Bears football team is compiled of five and six year olds based out of the Una Recreation Center and are members of the Mid-State Youth Football League; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes the Una Pee Wee Bears football team and coaches on their remarkable season and their impressive gridiron accomplishments.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the 2009 Una Pee Wee Bears Football Team.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Head Coach John Patton, his staff and the players of the Una Pee Wee Bears football team.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
