RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-887

A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement between the State of Tennessee, by and through the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, for the issuance of Boating Law Enforcement Commissions to officers of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

WHEREAS, the intergovernmental agreement between the State of Tennessee, by and through the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and the Metropolitan Government, by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, attached hereto, for the issuance of Boating Law Enforcement Commissions to officers of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department; and,

WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated Section 12-9-104 provides that intergovernmental agreements between the State and political subdivisions of the State may be approved by resolution; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this intergovernmental agreement be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the intergovernmental agreement by and between the State of Tennessee and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the issuance of Boating Law Enforcement Commissions to officers of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
