RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-870

A resolution approving an application for a Juvenile Accountability Block Grant (JABG) from the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Juvenile Court.

WHEREAS, the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth is accepting applications for a Juvenile Accountability Block Grant (JABG), with an award of $111,238.00 and a required match of $12,360.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the application for a Juvenile Accountability Block Grant (JABG), a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same, and the Metropolitan Nashville Juvenile Court is authorized to submit said grant application to the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
