RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-816
A resolution approving a grant application from the Greater Nashville Regional Council to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission, to provide meals that meet RDA nutritional guidelines and meal delivery services to eligible seniors.
WHEREAS, the Greater Nashville Regional Council is accepting grant applications to provide meals that meet RDA nutritional guidelines and meal delivery services to eligible seniors with an award of $450,700.00 with a required cash match of $45,100.00; an award of $55,300.00 with no cash match required for transportation services; and an award of $70,000.00 with no cash match required for congregate meal sites; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the grant application of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission, to provide meals that meet RDA nutritional guidelines and meal delivery services to eligible seniors, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Social Services Commission is authorized to submit said grant application to the Greater Nashville Regional Council.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
