RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-815

A resolution approving an application for an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Grant from the United States Department of Energy to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville General Services Department, to assist eligible entities to reduce fossil fuel emissions.

WHEREAS, the United States Department of Energy is accepting applications for an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Grant, with an award of $250,000.00 with no required cash match, to assist eligible entities to reduce fossil fuel emissions; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grantprogram; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the application for an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Grant, with an award of $250,000.00, to assist eligible entities to reduce fossil fuel emissions, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Nashville General Services Department is authorized to submit said application to the United States Department of Energy.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
