RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-813

A resolution approving an application for an ARRA State JAG Team Child Nashville Grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Public Defender’s Office to provide aid to at risk youth.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, is accepting applications for an ARRA State JAG Team Child Nashville Grant, with an award of $145,230.00 and no cash match required to provide aid to at risk youth; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the application for an ARRA State JAG Team Child Nashville Grant, with an award of $145,230.00, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same, and the Metropolitan Nashville Public Defender’s Office is authorized to submit said application to the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
