RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-801

A resolution accepting the Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Office of the District Attorney, for a Victim Witness Coordinator.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, has awarded the Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant in an amount not to exceed $56,000.00 with no cash match required to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Office of the District Attorney, for a Victim Witness Coordinator; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant, by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration in an amount not to exceed $56,000.00, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Office of the District Attorney, for a Victim Witness Coordinator, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Office of the District Attorney based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
