RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-799

A resolution approving an application for a grant from the Wal-Mart Foundation to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, for the El Protector Program which is an Hispanic Community Outreach Program.

WHEREAS, the Wal-Mart Foundation is accepting grant applications that benefit the community as a whole with an award of $1,500.00 and no cash match required; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant application of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Police Department, for the El Protector Program which is an Hispanic Community Outreach Program, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Police Department is authorized to submit said grant application to the Wal-Mart Foundation.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
