RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-715

A resolution approving an amendment to a contract with Vanderbilt University and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, for the Health Department’s participation in the Tuberculosis Trials Consortium Project.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, previously entered into a contract agreement with Vanderbilt University for the Health Department’s participation in the Tuberculosis Trials Consortium Project; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the contract to increase the amount of reimbursement to the Metropolitan Board of Health by $78,376.00 from $376,811.00 to $455,187.00 and to change the end date of the contract from September 30, 2008 to September 30, 2009, a copy of which Amendment 5 is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this contract amendment be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Amendment 5 to the contract by and between Vanderbilt University and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, for the Health Department’s participation in the Tuberculosis Trials Consortium Project, a copy of which Amendment 5 is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
