RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-702
A resolution authorizing the employment of special counsel to represent the interests of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County in matters related to the Juvenile Court.
Whereas, the Department of Law may have conflicts of interest in representing the Metropolitan Government in matters related to Juvenile Court’s appearance before the Court of Appeals; and
Whereas, Section 8.607 of the Metropolitan Charter provides for the employment of special counsel when the interest of the Metropolitan Government requires it; and
Whereas, the Metropolitan Government proposes to enter into a contract for legal services with John M. L. Brown, Esquire, pursuant to the terms of the document attached as Exhibit 1 (the “Agreement”) and incorporated to this resolution by reference.
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1. The Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the Agreement on behalf of the Metropolitan Government.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
