RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-682

A resolution requesting the Industrial Development Board of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to provide quarterly reports to the Metropolitan Council regarding the Board’s activity.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan County Council has, pursuant to Chapter 53 of Title 7 of the Tennessee Code Annotated, as amended, duly authorized and approved the establishment of The Industrial Development Board of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (IDB); and

WHEREAS, current and past audit reports of the IDB have revealed a number of significant concerns pertaining to Board oversight and management; and

WHEREAS, the IDB Members are in the process of making changes regarding the legal, financial, and administrative support of the IDB to ensure that these problems are adequately addressed and are not repeated; and

WHEREAS, as the appointing authority for the IDB, the Metropolitan Council should be advised on a periodic basis of the actions of the IDB.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as requesting the Industrial Development Board of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to submit quarterly reports to the Metropolitan Council listing the projects approved by the Board in the previous quarter, a brief description of the entities involved, and the location and type of facilities to be constructed with the assistance of the Board. Such reports should be provided not later than thirty days after the end of each quarter.

Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
