RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-671

A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement by and between the United States Department of the Treasury and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to allow authorized police personnel access to certain information under the Bank Secrecy Act.

WHEREAS, the intergovernmental agreement between the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department and the United States Department of the Treasury, by and through the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, attached hereto and incorporated herein, allows authorized police personnel access to certain information under the Bank Secrecy Act; and,

WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated Section 12-9-104 provides that intergovernmental agreements between political subdivisions of the State and agencies of the United States may be approved by Resolution; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this intergovernmental agreement be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the intergovernmental agreement by and between the United States Department of the Treasury and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
