RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-640

A resolution approving an application for the Polaris Ranger Donation Program of the U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, for an ATV to be used by the Special Operations/Hazardous Devices Unit.

WHEREAS, the U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company is accepting applications for the Polaris Ranger Donation Program, with an award of a 2009 Polaris ATV, estimated value $10,299.00 to be used by the Special Operations/Hazardous Devices Unit. There is no actual monetary award; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Metropolitan Government’s application for the Polaris Ranger Donation Program with an award of a 2009 Polaris ATV, to be used by the Special Operations/Hazardous Devices Unit, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is authorized to submit said application to the U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
