RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-639
A resolution approving an application for a Gang Resistance Education and Training Program Grant from the United States Department of Justice to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice is accepting applications for a Gang Resistance Education and Training Program Grant, with an award of $125,000.00 with no cash match required; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the application for a Gang Resistance Education and Training Program Grant, with an award of $125,000.00, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same, and the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is authorized to submit said application to the United States Department of Justice.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
