RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-632

A resolution appropriating $590,000 in Community Development Block Grant Funds for Streetscape Improvements in the 8th and Lafayette (SoBro) Neighborhood Strategy Area.

WHEREAS, application for 2006-2007, 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 years of the Community Development Block Grant program were approved by the Metropolitan Council through Ordinance No. BL 2005-857, BL-2006-1282 and BL 2007-46; and

WHEREAS, the applications for the 2006-2007, 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 years included funds allocated to the 8th and Lafayette (SoBro) Neighborhood Strategy Area; and

WHEREAS, a portion of these funds in the amount of $590,000 has been recommended by the Citizen Advisory Committee to be used for streetscape improvements.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That $590,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds be allocated for streetscape improvements in the 8th and Lafayette (SoBro) Neighborhood Strategy Area.

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
