RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-624

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the United States Department of Homeland Security to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Fire Department, to establish a fire prevention and awareness program to reduce injuries and fatalities.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the United States Department of Homeland Security; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the Grant Agreement by modifying the scope of the project, a copy of Amendment One is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that Amendment One be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Amendment One by and between the United States Department of Homeland Security and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Fire Department, a copy of which Amendment One is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant is to be appropriated to the Metropolitan Fire Department based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
