RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-597
A resolution recognizing Minuet Talley on winning the Baker and Taylor Cat Calendar artwork for 2009.
WHEREAS, Minuet Talley a third grader in Mrs. Gibson’s class at Una Elementary under the direction of Art teacher Caroline Bartlett at Una Elementary, is to be recognized for her artwork; and
WHEREAS, Minuet’s artwork in the Baker and Taylor cat calendar competition this year was selected as one of the twelve national winners; and
WHEREAS, Minuet’s artwork will represent the month of May in the Baker and Taylor Cat Calendar 2009; and
WHEREAS, Minuet will receive 20 calendars to give to family and friends and recognition as a great artist by having her artwork published in this national calendar; and
WHEREAS, the Baker and Taylor Company is the world’s largest book and entertainment distributor and supplies books and materials to school libraries around the world and because of Minuet's winning artwork they are giving our library $500 to help fund our school library with new book; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that Minuet Talley be recognized for her outstanding artwork.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Minuet Talley on winning the Baker and Taylor Cat Calendar artwork for 2009.
Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Minuet Talley of Mrs. Gibson’s class at Una Elementary.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
