RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-596
A resolution recognizing and congratulating the 2008 finalists in the “Put Waste in its Place: Keep Nashville Beautiful” art contest.
WHEREAS, the “Put Waste in its Place: Keep Nashville Beautiful” art contest was opened to all Metro public elementary third and fourth graders, with the top 70 entries being displayed on the sides of city waste trucks; and
WHEREAS, the competition was sponsored by the Metro Nashville Public Schools, Metro Nashville Public Works and Red River Service Corporation, Nashville’s largest waste collection service provider; and
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of these talented individuals, represent the creative ability exhibited by a large number of the Davidson County youth; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes the 2008 finalists and extends their congratulations to them on their accomplishment and encourage them to seek opportunities to expand their horizons and capabilities.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing and congratulating the 2008 finalists in the “Put Waste in its Place: Keep Nashville Beautiful” art contest.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
