RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-1072

A resolution approving a grant and amendment one to the grant from the Friends of Centennial Park and Parthenon to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Parks and Recreation Department, to provide funding for one employee’s salary.

WHEREAS, the Friends of Centennial Park and Parthenon awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed $60,000.00 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Parks and Recreation Department to fund one position, a copy of which grant is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant contract to increase the amount by $10,000.00 from $60,000.00 to $70,000.00 with a cash match of $2,066.00 effective November 1, 2009, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and is included in the FY 2010 budget; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the grant and amendment one be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant and amendment one to the grant by and between the Friends of Centennial Park and Parthenon and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Parks and Recreation Department, copies of which grant and amendment one are attached hereto and incorporated herein, are hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant is to be appropriated to the Metropolitan Nashville Parks and Recreation Department based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
