RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-1062

A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Agriculture, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County, acting by and through Metropolitan Department of Water Services, for the purpose of community tree planting on vacant flood prone property owned by the Metropolitan Government on Ewingdale Drive.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Agriculture, has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed $730.00 with a local match of $730.00 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of Water Services, for the purpose of community tree planting on vacant flood prone property owned by the Metropolitan Government on Ewingdale Drive; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County that this grant be accepted and approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Agriculture, in an amount not to exceed $730.00 with a local match of $730.00 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Department of Water Services, for the purpose of community tree planting on vacant flood prone property owned by the Metropolitan Government on Ewingdale Drive, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Department of Water Services based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County requiring it.
